Celtic striker Albian Ajeti has had a very impressive start to his career with the Hoops. He made his first start for the club and showed a fine striker’s instinct to score with a snapshot in the 5-0 win over Ross County.
That meant that Ajeti had scored in his first three league games for the Hoops – against Dundee United, Motherwell and Ross County.
That is a great achievement, particularly for a player who didn’t play that much football last season, and is just getting himself fit this season.
Excellent start to Hoops career
So impressive is Ajeti’s start to his season, that he is the first player to score in his first three league games for Celtic since 2016.

The last player to do that was a Celtic invincible – Scott Sinclair. Sinclair was a superb player for Celtic for most of his time at the club. He was named player of the year in his first season. That goal against Ross County puts Ajeti in very good company.
It is far too early to tell if Albian Ajeti will be as good a player for the Hoops as Scott Sinclair. However, it can’t be denied that he has made a very good start to life at Celtic.
Strike partnership could be a game changer
His partnership with Odsonne Edouard could prove to be a game changer for Celtic this season. He only played 62 minutes against Ross County, just imagine how good a player he could be when he can play 90 minutes.

Neil Lennon will not want to put too much pressure on the player. He will want to keep his feet on the ground going forward. However, you can’t blame fans for getting excited at the prospect of Edouard and Ajeti scoring plenty of goals this season.
Next stop for Ajeti is St Mirren on Wednesday night. Sinclair scored in his first six Celtic league games, it will be interesting to see if Ajeti can match that. He is certainly playing well enough,
In other news, Neil Lennon has confirmed that 3-5-2 is his preferred formation.
