Armstrong Okoflex is continuing to impress the West Ham United supporters after leaving Celtic in the summer transfer window.
Despite spending several years in the Lennoxtown academy, Okoflex never truly managed to progress into the first-team. Despite bagging two appearances after the chaos surrounding Celtic’s trip to Dubai last season, the Irish talent never managed to stay in and around the first-team picture.
It was unclear as to why Okoflex left Celtic. Whether he was offered a new contract or not wasn’t made clear. However, the attacker departed when his deal expired several months ago.
In his debut campaign with the Hammers, he’s been operating with the U23 side. He was also taken by senior boss David Moyes on their pre-season training camp to Scotland. Celtic fans may remember him notching a goal at Parkhead in our 6-2 loss to the EPL side in July.
But he’s been flourishing with the U23s in recent weeks too. After securing a hattrick against Arsenal U23s last month, he scored a last-minute winner against Ipswich last night with a fine penalty kick.

It marked his fifth 90-minute appearance for the U23s, where he’s looked like one of the top emerging talents in the Hammers’ academy.
Celtic fans should be excited by latest redevelopment plans
The attacker has still to make his debut for the West Ham senior side. However, it’s fair to say that there’s a growing demand for that to happen.
Even at this early stage, it looks as though Okoflex made the right decision. For one reason or another he was totally unfavoured at Parkhead. Nobody was touting him for future first-team opportunities whilst he didn’t have the platform he does now with the EPL 2 division.
The West Ham supporters have been taking a keen interest in their academy talents this term. And with Okoflex emerging as one of the top contenders to be pulled up, there are growing calls on social media for it to happen.
Here’s a look at how the London club’s support reacted to Okoflex’s most recent display:
