The start of pre-season means a fresh start for a lot of players at Celtic Park. They will have a chance to impress Neil Lennon, and fight their way into the first-team.
One of those players is Vakoun Issouf Bayo. The January signing missed a lot of last season with a hamstring injury, but he is now fit and ready for selection.
Unknown quantity to manager

The player will be an unknown quantity to Neil Lennon. He will have only seen the player score for the reserves. Bayo’s only first-team appearance came when Brendan Rodgers was still in charge.
Still, you would imagine that Bayo will be given a chance on the Hoops’ upcoming tour of Austria. Should he impress Neil Lennon, he could solve a transfer problem for the club.

Possibly no need for another striker
The Hoops boss has previously stated that his ‘top priority‘ at Celtic was to sign a striker. Should Bayo impress though, there will be no need to bring in another forward.

The trio of Bayo, Odsonne Edouard and Leigh Griffiths would be enough for the squad you would think. Particularly when you consider that Celtic often only play with one striker.
It will be up to Bayo to show that he is good enough to make it at the Hoops. He has scored plenty of goals in his career. Now he has to show that he can find the back of the net for Celtic.
