It appears that Celtic winger Jota is turning heads at the right time as his career continues to bolster at Parkhead.

The on-loan Benfica winger has become one of the first names on the teamsheet for Ange Postecoglou’s Hoops side. Finally, Celtic have been provided with a cutting edge down the left flank as the Portuguese starlet builds up some red hot form with goals against Aberdeen and Motherwell in our last two matches.

It’s not only Jota’s goalscoring that’s caught the eye however. The Benfica academy graduate has shown a keen eye for a cross and clever movement to get in behind opposition defences.

Perhaps most importantly, he’s showing a level of passion that Celtic fans can relate to. Seldom do foreign players come to the club and “get it” instantly. Jota is one of those rare talents that do – most likely coming from the pressures of playing for Benfica during his younger days.

He’s an out-and-out winner. Already having that trait has made his integration into Scottish football a lot better than it could’ve been.

So much has already been made of whether Celtic will buy him outright in the summer. Already, there’s a strong demand from supporters to get a deal done. After all, at just over £6m, he looks a steal [Sky Sports].

That’s an option Celtic have, but don’t expect them to take it anytime soon. It’s not the way we operate as a football club. Instead, the Hoops will wait until the end of the campaign before giving their judgment.

But it looks as though even the Benfica fans are starting to regret how their club went about this one. After being frozen out in his homeland, many are wondering whether he could prove to be a worthwhile figure to bring back to Benfica.

You still feel Jota has yet to show his full potential at Celtic Park. But it doesn’t look as if it’s going to be long before he does.

And reacting on social media to his displays, the Benfica supporters have been left pondering the player’s future as they bigged up his loan form:

“Longing for what we didn’t experience”

@Notpaulo: “Don’t forget the money Celtic will spend to get it. In a few years we will see the profit they will make and I won’t say any more.”

@Miguel_apereira: “Jota showing all his talent and quality in Scotland. Scored one more goal today. In 8 games for Celtic, he already has 3 goals and 3 assists. Always adding up…”

@CurtaVermelha: “Longing for what we didn’t experience. Nor will we because with a clause of 7 or 8M he is already sold.

@Joaocasta97: Let him stay on the squad for the next season. He just needs to play confidently like he is now.

@Footballabout: “Play with both feet. It is inexplicable to take advantage of these talents.”

@Tiagojesuz: Jota doesn’t stop, he already has three goals and three assists in eight games

@Joaogil38: “This guy doesn’t know how not to score

@Ttiago_b: “He’s in incredible shape”.
