Celtic youngster Barry Coffey has made a name for himself in a recent international tournament. The midfielder scored the winning goal for the Republic of Ireland in the under-19 European Championship clash against the Czech Republic.
The winning goal put the Republic of Ireland into the semi-finals of the tournament, where they will face Portugal. Credit has to be given to the player for making a big impact in the tournament.
The question that has to be asked now though, is can the player make a similar impact at Celtic?
Time is on his side

Luckily for Coffey, time is on his side. He is only 18. That is a good thing for him, as Celtic’s midfield seems to be the most difficult part of the side to get into.
Perhaps a loan move would benefit Coffey when he returns to the club after the tournament. He can play for Celtic’s youth and reserve teams up until January, then maybe a loan move for the second-half of the season.
Loan move to Championship club?

That would give him regular football at a decent level, maybe a Championship club would be ideal.
Neil Lennon will be watching Coffey’s progress with interest. The player has obviously done well for Celtic to make the Ireland squad in the first place.
Now, it is all about taking that next step. Coffey will be hoping he gets the chance to show that he can make it at Celtic.
