Celtic are only seven home games away from a significant achievement

The Daily Record recently published a look at the home form of teams in the Scottish Premiership for the calendar year 2019.

Unsurprisingly, Celtic had the best win percentage of all the teams in the league, with 14 wins and two draws from 16 games. That is a win percentage of 85%.

The Hoops will be looking to go until the end of the year unbeaten in the league at home. There is a real chance the Hoops could achieve this feat. After all, they only lost one game at home in the calendar year of 2018, and that was a meaningless 1-0 loss to Aberdeen at the end of the season.

The seven home league games the Hoops have between now and the end of the year are anything but meaningless. They are games Neil Lennon will be looking to win to stay on track for nine in a row.

The first of these games is on Wednesday night, when the Hoops take on St Mirren. With all due respect to the Paisley side, that is a game that the Hoops should be looking to win comfortably.

However, there could be a few fixtures before the end of the season which provide more of a challenge to the Hoops.

The game against Motherwell could well be one. That takes place on the 10th of November, only three days after the Hoops play Lazio in the Europa League.

Game could be vital in title race

The Hoops may have to raise their game after a gruelling match in Italy. The other difficult looking game is the last one of the seven, the Glasgow derby against Rangers.

That game could be vital in the battle for the Premiership title. Should the Hoops play to their best though, they should have no fears about playing their Glasgow rivals.

It could be a tall order for Neil Lennon’s side to produce seven wins from those seven games. If they do though, it would put the Hoops in a great position to retain the title.
