One of the most unexpected aspects of Celtic’s season so far, has been Nir Bitton’s continued presence in the side.
The Hoops utility man has played at centre-back in all three of Celtic’s Champions League qualifiers so far. And it has been a successful move for the player, as the Hoops look set to make the third round of the qualifiers.
Manager has faith in player

Bitton is unlikely to feature as a centre-back for the majority of the season. But his 100% appearance record shows that Neil Lennon trusts him.
There is no doubt that Lennon will be keen to get Bitton tied down on a new Celtic contract. His current deal expires at the end of the season.
Started in vital fixture

However, his importance to Lennon was shown when the then caretaker manager selected Bitton for his first game in charge, a 2-1 win over Hearts at Tynecastle.
That showed that Lennon still had faith in the player that he originally signed for Celtic back in 2013.
Bitton probably won’t play for Celtic every week this season. However, he has already shown that he could have a role to play for the Hoops as they aim to succeed in Europe and domestically.
Neil Lennon revealed last season that the club were having contract talks with Bitton. He will want those talks to conclude with the player signing a new deal at Celtic Park.
