Celtic fans’ attention may be divided during Champions League clash
Whilst the majority of Celtic fans will be devoted to watching the second leg Champions League clash against Nomme Kalju, their attention may be divided during the game.
The reason for that – the second leg of the Cluj-Maccabi Tel Aviv match kicks off at the same time as Celtic’s game against Kalju.
Hoops have comfortable lead
The Hoops are set to play the winner of that clash in the third round of Champions League qualifying. Whilst the Hoops have a comfortable 5-0 lead of Kalju, the other fixture is much closer.
Cluj have a 1-0 lead going into the second leg. Should Celtic be comfortable in Estonia, attention will turn to the match in Israel.
Fans will want to know the winner of the tie as soon as possible, so they can begin to sort travel arrangements for the match.
Tie will be difficult whoever Celtic play
Neil Lennon will also be well-aware of the result. He is unlikely to have a preference as to who the Hoops play in the next round.
It will be a difficult opponent whoever the Hoops end up playing. It should be remembered that Celtic want out at the third round stage of the competition last season. Therefore, no one at the club will be under any illusion about how difficult the game will be.
The most important thing for the tie against Kalju is that the Hoops emerge with no injuries. Then all the attention can turn to the next round clash.
