Celtic have a big ticket decision to make on the next derby involving Rangers at Celtic Park.
With the relaxation of red zone rules will come the return of away fans to Paradise in domestic football for the first time in over 18 months. That’ll be welcomed and celebrated.
Celtic are hoping to have plans in place for the upcoming visit of St Johnstone, but are waiting on confirmation first.
However, the club now have to consider how to handle Rangers and their allocation on January 2nd. There are multiple ways to go with it.
One, Celtic flat out reject tickets given Rangers petty stance for the recent derby at Ibrox.
Two, Celtic allow Rangers to have around 800 tickets, per the most recent arrangement pre-Covid.
Or, three, Celtic look to end the derby back and forth, giving Rangers thousands of seats with the proviso that our fans regain control of the Broomloan End on derby days at Ibrox.
Ultimately it could be a combination of all three. 67 Hail Hail understands that prior to the recent Ibrox snub, Celtic were hoping to get back to the days of full allocations and bigger derby crowds.
So, they could look to leverage the current situation by delivering some sort of allocation this time around and negotiate a bigger away crowd at Ibrox next time.
The most popular, crowd-pleasing decision could well be to deny them entry outright. Plenty of supporters feel it would be unfair to allow any of them in given we had to face a full, sold out Ibrox full of their fans.
Regardless of which way Celtic go, the decision they make will be scrutinised, so they’ll need to have a long old think between now and December.
