Celtic may soon have a big decision to make in their pursuit of Romain Perraud.
The French left-back has been linked with a move to Glasgow this summer, with L’Equipe recently reporting that the Hoops and Brest were in a fight for his services.

An even more up to date report from Get French Football News suggested that the Ligue 1 side were inching ahead in the battle for the 21-year-old.
Celtic are believed to have cooled their interest in Perraud after signing Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo. However, the future of Kieran Tierney could still have ramifications in the Hoops’ hunt of Perraud.

Celtic are clearly keen on Perraud
If Tierney moves on then Celtic will have to recruit another left-back. Operating with just one isn’t feasible given the 60 game season that awaits us.
Perraud has clearly been identified as a suitable candidate to add depth to the role so there’s a good chance we’ll return for him if and when Tierney moves on. The bigger issue is whether Perraud will still be on the market when we need him.

It’s a tough one for the club as they won’t want to lose Tierney. Nor will they want to have three high-quality left-backs at the club. A best solution for everyone involved would be for the Tierney saga to draw to a close, whatever the result.
If he goes, then let him go early in the window. That allows Neil Lennon and his recruitment team to bring in a replacement with time to spare. If it’s announced that he’s to stay then that also puts many fears to bed.
The worst case scenario is that Tierney moves on late in the window, giving Celtic little chance to find an adequate replacement. The club must make sure that they have some sort of a replacement lined up – even if that man isn’t Perraud.
