The current Celtic squad will be well used to the pre-season noise from Rangers by now.
Every summer, the Ibrox side are found bumping their gums about what they’re going to do in the coming season. This year has been no different with a number of the current Gers first-team squad openly commenting about their chances of success.
Confidence is always good in sport, but Steven Gerrard must have his head in his hands at times.

New Rangers recruit Sheyi Ojo has been the most vocal in recent weeks. The Sun had some fiery quotes from the attacker as he set his sights on helping to end his side’s eight year wait for a major trophy.
“I think Rangers are the best team in the league”, Ojo said.
“It is just about us proving we are the best team and doing really well this season.”

Celtic won’t care too much about Rangers noise
Neil Lennon and Celtic will be pretty happy to hear the Englishman mouth off about his team’s chances. It’s worked well for them over the past three seasons.
While Rangers have threatened to do stuff, Celtic have actually done it. The Hoops have said so very little in the press over the past three seasons, but they’ve made up for it by winning nine successive domestic trophies.

One again this year, they’ll go about their business in a quiet manner and aim to win more games than anyone else.
Neil Lennon’s outfit should be wary of Rangers, as well as the likes of Aberdeen and Hibernian. But they shouldn’t fear any of them. We’re still the team to beat and, with another few key additions, we’ll be even heavier favourites to win nine-in-a-row.
Celtic will stick to doing their talking on the pitch once again. That, and winning, is what they’re used to.
