Celtic’s pursuit of David Turnbull may be over, but the Hoops are reportedly still interested in another midfield target.

The Daily Record is reporting that the Hoops have West Brom’s Rekeem Harper is still on a wish list of potential summer signings.

Future still uncertain

Harper is currently out of contract with the Championship side. However, recent reports claimed that newly appointed West Brom boss Slaven Bilic wanted to discuss Harper’s future with the player.

Celtic should move quickly to get any deal for Harper done. It would make fans forget about the inability to land Turnbull.

The player has been on Celtic’s radar for a while. He was reportedly a VIP guest of the club for the final league game of the season against Hearts.

Would be a bargain

Hoops boss Neil Lennon was also pictured at a West Brom game, presumably watching Harper in action. The Hoops would only have to pay over £200,000 to land the player, which is much less than Turnbull would have cost.

There is still plenty of time for Celtic to have a successful summer transfer window. However, it is not got off to a good start with the Turnbull saga.

The negatives can be turned into positives with the signing of Harper. The Hoops should move fast to get the deal done before West Brom have a chance to keep him at the club.
