Celtic defender Cameron Carter-Vickers once again showcased his importance to Ange Postecoglou’s side after his performance at Ibrox.
The 25-year-old has been an essential player for the Celtic boss since his initial arrival on loan from Tottenham Hotspur last campaign.
And that has continued this season after the American international signed a permanent long-term contract at Parkhead.

Carter-Vickers has been a key part of the Bhoys’ domestic success so far in the 2022/23 campaign, helping the Bhoys lose just one out of our first 20 league games.
And his importance to this Celtic side was particularly on show during our 2-2 draw at Ibrox on Monday afternoon, as he put in a mammoth defensive display at Ibrox.
Of course, yesterday’s performance was a frustrating one almost across the board, with the Hoops letting a two-goal lead slip.
However, there were still some positives to take out of it – mainly the fact our lead at the top was unscathed thanks to the never say die attitude of Postecoglou’s squad.
From a player’s perspective, the defensive right-sided pairing of Alistair Johnston and Cameron Carter-Vickers were two players who supporters picked out for praise.
And it is fair to say that Carter-Vickers importance to this team was on show on more than one occasion at Ibrox, with some big moments that helped Celtic take home a point from the game.

Carter-Vickers’ game-saving challenge continues to exhibit his Celtic importance.
A day on from the Glasgow Derby, we can look on and say we are happy with the result that maintained our nine-point advantage at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
However, that could have been very different for the Hoops had certain moments not gone their way, including one huge moment from Cameron Carter-Vickers.
With Celtic trailing the game at 2-1, the American defender made an outstanding block from a Malik Tillman strike, which look almost destined to find the back of the net.
Ultimately, the rest is history, with the Bhoys then going on to secure a late point, thanks to the goal from Kyogo Furuhashi. And I am sure if the Hoops go on to achieve title success, then that goal will be remembered fondly.
However, Carter-Vicker’s late challenge deserves to be remembered in the same breath as a moment which saved the game for Celtic and led to the late equaliser.

It wasn’t just the one challenge that left supporters impressed with Carter-Vickers, but also his overall performance, including a late battle with Rangers’ Scott Wright to win a crucial free kick.
The Celtic defender continues to showcase his importance for Ange Postecoglou on biggest of occasions, and he was highly influential once more on Monday afternoon.
It cannot be understated how crucial the centre-back has been, not only this season but also since his arrival on deadline day of last summer.
He may not be in the headlines as the man who rescued the point for Celtic at Ibrox. But he very much played his part, with some extremely important defensive moments and another solid display at the back.
