CELTIC TRANSFER ROUND-UP: 7th MAY 2019
Hooper to return?

The big news on the transfer front is that The Scottish Sun is reporting that should Neil Lennon get the permanent Celtic manager’s job, he wants to bring Gary Hooper back to the club. Hooper was a big success at Celtic during Lennon’s first spell as manager. However, injuries have slowed down his career in the last 18 months. If Lennon gets the job though, don’t rule out this happening.

Izaguirre to depart?

One player who could be leaving the Hoops is left-back Emilio Izaguirre. He has revealed, as reported by the Daily Record, that the club have offered him a one-year contract but that he would like to play in America to be closer to his homeland of Honduras. It is no surprise that the Hoops have offered the player a new deal. The injuries suffered by Kieran Tierney this season has meant that Izaguirre has played a fair amount of football this season. However, if the player’s mind is made up about leaving, the club could let him go.

Former striker thinks player of the year won’t leave

Former Hoops striker Frank McAvennie has been giving his verdict on the Scottish player of the year James Forrest. He told the Herald that he believes that Forrest won’t move to England as he won’t want to move to a team possibly in a relegation battle. Forrest is better than a team towards the bottom of the Premier League. Hopefully Forrest stays on at the Hoops for another few years at least, to build on the huge success he has had this season.
