CELTIC TRANSFER ROUND-UP: 10TH JUNE 2019
Centre-back shopping
Celtic were linked with two defenders playing in different sides of the continent. Reading’s 26 year-old Liam Moore is interesting the club according to a journalist based down in Berkshire. Reading Chronicle reporter Courtney Friday says he’s heard of the Hoops’ interest in the former England youth international.

We’ve also been linked with a move for Dinamo Zagreb defender Amir Rrahmani. He’s a year younger than Moore at 25, and recently captained his native Kosovo in a Euro 2020 qualifier. Celtic have experience of shopping from Dinamo. We signed Jozo Simunovic from the Croatian champions in 2015 and tried to get Filip Benkovic while he played there too.
It’s a market we’re familiar with so don’t be surprised to see us revisit it.

The Dutchman who won’t go away
The name of Mark Diemers has been mentioned again. The 25-year-old midfielder registered seven goals and seven assists in a good year for Eredivisie strugglers Fortuna Sittard. Dutch media linked us with a move last month and now it’s the turn of their Belgian neighbours.

Walfoot say we’re one of the many clubs chasing his signature.

“It’s flattering”
Kilmarnock and Scotland full-back Stephen O’Donnell says “it’s flattering” to be linked to Celtic but doesn’t think a move is too likely at this stage. (Daily Record)

Any move for the right would be likely to depend on the future of Mikael Lustig. The Swede is likely to reveal where he’ll be playing his football later on this week.
