Celtic could be on the verge of having to make a big transfer decision. Scott Sinclair’s future at the club is currently under some doubt.

The Evening Times reports that Preston North End are considering making a £2.5 million bid for the player. Meanwhile, the Lancashire Evening Post has revealed that Preston asked Celtic about taking the player on loan, but the Hoops are not interested in that, only in a permanent deal.

No longer a first-team regular

Sinclair’s future at the club has to be in some doubt due to the fact that he is not a first-team regular at Celtic. Therefore, should a bid come in, the Hoops will have a big decision to make.

There is no doubt that Sinclair has been excellent for the Hoops in his three seasons with the club. He has hit double figures in goals in each of those seasons.

Worth moving on?

However, if he is not going to play for the first-team, perhaps it is worth moving him on? £2.5 million might not seem a lot of money for a player with his record.

But then it should be remembered that the player only has one year left on his contract with the Hoops. However, perhaps Sinclair won’t want to give up the Champions League for the Championship.

As the English transfer window closes in two weeks’ time, we shall find out more about Sinclair’s future relatively soon. It will be a big decision for both the player and the club.
