In the end, the biggest story coming from Celtic’s 2-1 win over SC Wiener wasn’t the debut of Marian Shved – it was about the man who scored the winning goal – Vakoun Issouf Bayo.
Bayo made up for missing two good chances earlier in the game by scoring a late winner in style. The goal was a smart finish, on the turn from Jonny Hayes’ cross.
Delighted to score his first goal

It might only be a pre-season game, but Bayo will be delighted to have scored his first goal for the Hoops. It is a good sign that he didn’t give up after missing the earlier chances. The goal will have done his confidence plenty of good as well.
Intriguingly, he and Leigh Griffiths combined well together in the second-half as a strike partnership. That may be an option that Neil Lennon could explore during the season.

Injury issues affected season
All at Celtic will be hoping that goal gives Bayo plenty of encouragement for the season ahead. He rarely featured for the Hoops after suffering an injury not long after joining the club in January.

He knows where the back of the net is. His record with his former club Dunajská Streda proves that. In his final season with the club, he scored 18 goals.
If he can stay injury free, he is bound to get a chance for the Hoops in the season to come.
