Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton is well-known for being opinionated.

This hasn’t changed with his latest outburst.

Sutton wasn’t impressed with a recent statement by Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers.

Sky Sports reported that the Celtic boss was ‘indiffrent’ about potential signing Maryan Shved.

Sutton believes this is an example of the broken down relationship between Rodgers and chief executive Peter Lawwell.

“If this is how Celtic’s transfer committee is working and Brendan is suggesting he didn’t have a big say then it’s a head scratcher” Sutton declared in his Daily Record column.

“It doesn’t seem like Brendan is toeing the party line and – like he did in pre-season – he has thrown Peter Lawwell under the bus.”

Sutton might be paintint a worrying scenario for Hoops fans, but he is correct.

Both Lawwell and Rodgers need to end their feud for the good of the club.

Despite not having the best transfer record, Rodgers has been a phenomenal boss for Celtic.

The signings of Charly Musonda and Jack Hendry have been poor for example.

However, Rodgers has won every domestic trophy he has competed for so far in his time at the club.

Lawwell and Rodgers must put on a united front for the rest for the season, as the Hoops go for eight in a row.
