Craig Levein sounds like a broken record, and a wee bit bitter, whenever he talks about Celtic in the Scottish league.
For years the former Hearts boss has advocated that Celtic should make the move to England as the pain of the Hoops’ success in Scotland appears to annoy the former Hearts boss.
Levein has a knack of making controversial statements after once publicly batting for Rangers as Celtic marched on to their second nine-in-a-row.
Even as recently as 2023 Levein continued his anti-Celtic England rhetoric claiming he would drive the Parkhead club and Rangers down south to ply their trade.
And here, he is at it again.

Ex-Hearts boss Levein wants Celtic and Rangers ‘to go play in England’
Sacked by St Johnstone after a shocking run of results put the club on the path to relegation, Levein has pulled out his usual nonsense about Celtic this week as the title race with Hearts heats up.
Levein told The STV Radio Football Show, “The best thing to happen to Scottish football is for the O-d F-rm to go and play in England.
“Because I think you’re getting a competitive league. And I would support Rangers or Celtic if they are playing Man United.
“I would be supporting them because they are Scottish. And I can’t see any other way of levelling up at all, other than Tony Bloom, coming into six different clubs, or somebody like Tony Bloom coming into six different clubs in Scotland, to elevate those levels, to make a really competitive league.
“That’s what’s brilliant about this. There’s a lot of people who aren’t Hearts supporters, but they’re actually enjoying what’s happened this season.”

67 Hail Hail’s verdict on Craig Levein’s dig at Celtic
Levein probably thinks this opinion will be shared by many, but let’s be honest, if Celtic and Rangers both left Scottish football, no one would be giving two hoots about Hearts right now.
The only reason the Tynecastle club are getting as many plaudits that they are is simply down to the fact that they are ahead of both Glasgow giants.
Does Levein seriously believe that the TV broadcasters would equal, never mind exceed, the current deal to cover a title race between Hearts, Aberdeen, Hibs and Motherwell?
It’s a lazy argument and whilst the league title race would be more competitive, no one, and I mean no one, is paying a Sky Sports and/or Premier Sports subscription to watch a league title race without Celtic or Rangers.
