With Scott Sinclair on his way to Preston, Neil Lennon has indicated that Celtic will be looking to possibly sign a wide player in the January transfer window.
The Hoops boss gave an insight into his plans in an interview which appeared on Sky Sports Scotland’s Twitter account.
“We’re maybe looking at…the wide area as well” Lennon said, when asked if any other positions aside from a striker were under consideration for January.

It is not really a shock that Lennon wants to replace Sinclair. Even though he didn’t feature for the Hoops often this season, Celtic will still be looking for a player to replace Sinclair in the squad.
Would be like a new signing
However, rather than signing another player, Neil Lennon should hand a chance to a player already in his squad, who has featured so rarely for the Hoops that he would actually be like a new signing.
That player is Daniel Arzani, who has played less than 45 minutes of football for the Hoops, as he suffered a severe knee injury in his first-team debut back in October 2018.
After more than a year out, the player is now fully fit, and training with the first-team squad in Dubai. He should be given a chance to prove that he is an able replacement for Sinclair in the squad.
Loan deal expires soon
A factor that should be taken into account is that Arzani’s loan deal with the Hoops expires at then end of the season. He due to return to Manchester City then.
However, should he get a chance in the first-team and succeed perhaps the Hoops will be able to extend his loan deal for another season.
After so long out of action, Arzani deserves a chance to show what he can do for Celtic. The team looked in need of freshening up in December, perhaps Arzani can be that player.
