Celtic’s upcoming Betfred Cup game against Dunfermline is probably one which most supporters are not really looking forward to.
The Hoops fans are still upset over the 4-3 loss to Cluj which saw the club exit the Champions League before the group stages.
Playing a Championship side in a half-empty stadium will not seem like the most attractive fixture. However, Neil Lennon can get the fans out of their misery by making a few changes to his team.
Player can excite the support
He can select players who can get the fans up off their feet. One such player is Ewan Henderson. The midfielder has played only one minute of first-team football this season.
He came on a late substitute in the 2-1 win over Sarajevo. That is not enough game time for a player who impressed last season.
Performed well last season
Last season he made five first-team appearances, and provided three assists in those fixtures. Henderson has a range of passes that few of his team-mates have.
Following the loss to Cluj, and the fact that it is the Betfred Cup, Neil Lennon will be looking to make changes. Some players which failed in Europe will no doubt be dropped.
Therefore, Henderson should be given a start in the game. Who knows, perhaps if he impresses he will make a return to the first-team squad?
