It looks as if Eboue Kouassi could be on his way out of Celtic. SDNA are reporting that Greek side Panathinaikos are interested in signing the Hoops midfielder.
A move away from Celtic Park would be the best thing for both the player and the club. It would allow the player to have the chance of getting regular football.
Whilst the Hoops could hopefully recoup some of the £3 million they paid Krasnodar for the player back in January 2017.
Rarely featured for Hoops
Unfortunately, since joining the Hoops Kouassi has rarely featured for the club. In his two and a half years at the club he has made only 22 appearances in total.
That is not enough for a player that you spend £3 million on. To be fair, he has been unlucky with injuries. Last season he was enjoying a run of games before suffering a cruciate ligament injury in November which kept him out for the rest of the season.
Would a loan deal suit?
As he still has two years left to run on his contract, perhaps a loan deal for a season would be a good idea. It would allow Kouassi to get some game time, and if he succeeds in Greece then perhaps Neil Lennon will give him a chance in Scotland.
Only time will tell on that front, perhaps Panathinaikos will want to buy the player on a permanent basis. However, a move for Kouassi will suit both him and Celtic.
