It has to be said that last week was a very good one for Celtic. The Hoops reached the group stages of the Europa League, signed a few players, and perhaps most importantly of all, defeated Rangers 2-0 at Ibrox.
However, there was one slight blemish in a week to remember for the Celtic support. That is, the poor performance of James Forrest in the win over Rangers.
Forrest has been in excellent form for the Hoops this season. Indeed, over the last few seasons he has arguably been Celtic’s most consistent performers.
Seemed to struggle at home of biggest rivals

However, for some reason he has always seemed to struggle against Rangers. Interestingly, for a player who has scored so many goals in recent seasons, he has only scored two against the Hoops’ biggest rivals.
Both of those goals were important ones though. The winner in last season’s 2-1 victory and a goal in the 5-0 win title clinching game in 2018.
In the recent game though, Forrest failed to make much of an impact. It was no surprise to see that he was substituted in the second-half.
It really is a mystery why Forrest has never dominated Glasgow derbies the way he has dominated in so many other games for the Hoops.
That is not to take away from how good a player that he has been for Celtic though. He will go down as one of the most decorated players in Celtic’s history.
Still time to put situation right

Hopefully in the Hoops’ second visit to Ibrox later this season, Forrest puts on a performance to remember against Celtic’s biggest rivals.
For a long time it seemed odd that he had never scored against Rangers. Now that has been dealt with, and it is time for Forrest to shine at Ibrox.
Hopefully working with Neil Lennon on the matter will help the player. It’s practically the only thing his Celtic career has lacked, a goal at Ibrox. Thankfully there is still time to put that right.
