The Celtic supporters are now asking serious questions about the usage or lack thereof of Giorgos Giakoumakis.

The Hoops managed to bag a vital 2-1 win at Pittodrie against Aberdeen. It’s a result many will be hoping turns things around for Ange Postecoglou after a troubled start to his Celtic career.

The Greek-Australian has brought a host of players to the football club, with new signing Giakoumakis signed to ease the load on Kyogo Furuhashi. But as we enter early November, the Celtic supporters have still to catch much of a glimpse of the former VVV-Venlo man.

He was given a brief cameo against Bayer Leverkusen on Thursday night. A move that suggested he was fit and ready to play from here on in. However, when we desperately needed a goal yesterday, Postecoglou instead turned to Albian Ajeti.

Giakoumakis was on the bench once again, but he didn’t get a single minute of yesterday’s exciting win in the Granite City.

Given the drama that was going on at Pittodrie, it looked like an ideal chance for Giakoumakis to shine. After all, if he was fit to play in the closing stages against Leverkusen, surely the same applied to yesterday’s game.

But Celtic fans have been left wondering how he couldn’t simply replicate the cameo against Bayer. Especially at such a crucial 10-20-minute period in our season.

In the end, we managed to get away with it. Jota would stab home a winning goal and the three points were secured.

However, it’s clear that the Giakoumakis situation is beginning to frustrate the Celtic support. Here, we take a look at some of the reaction to the Greek forward being snubbed:
