As the January transfer window is now open, most of the talk is now about who will be joining Celtic. That is understandable, as it is always more interesting than who will be leaving the club.
One player who is undeniably a Hoops target is Slovan Bratislava’s Andraz Sporar, who it has been reported will cost the Hoops more than £5 million. The player has scored 20 goals this season, so it is understandable why Neil Lennon is interested in the player.
Should Sporar join, it will inevitably have an impact on some areas of the team. The Hoops will have four strikers at the club, for a start, all battling for one place in the starting line-up.
Found it hard to recapture form

One player who could be impacted more than most is Leigh Griffiths. The striker has found it hard to recapture his form after missing the second-half of last season due to off-field issues.
Some people might think that should Sporar join the Hoops, Griffiths’ time at Celtic is over, and he will be allowed to leave – maybe on loan – before the end of the transfer window.
However, that might not be the case. Even though he hasn’t been starting Griffiths it is fair to see that Neil Lennon still has some faith in the player. After all, it was Griffiths he turned to and not any of the other attackers on the bench when needing a late goal against Rangers.
Goal record will not be easily replaced

It should also be remembered that he has scored over 100 goals for Celtic, 107 in fact, which is a record to be proud of, and not one which will be easily replaced.
It can’t be denied that Griffiths’ time at Celtic could be up sooner rather than later. However, so good has his goalscoring prowess been in the past, that it would not be a shock to see him stay at Celtic for the rest of the season, even if Sporar or another striker joins the Hoops. He could still chip in with the odd goal, and who knows how important they could prove to be in the title race.
