Jack Hendry’s Celtic career hasn’t really gone how the player or the club will have wanted it to. He signed for the Hoops from Dundee back in February 2018, for a fee of reportedly £1.5 million.
However, the centre-back has found it difficult to get back into the first-team. When he has played for the Hoops he has never looked convincing. Perhaps it was an ominous sign when the Hoops lost 1-0 to Kilmarnock in his first-team debut.
Played 11 minutes of first-team football this season

This season he has played only 11 minutes of football for the Hoops. He came on as a late substitute in a Betfred Cup tie against Partick Thistle. Aside from that appearance he has not even featured in a Hoops squad this season.
The chances of him making the Celtic squad already looked slim before he received a straight red card for a ‘rough challenge’ in the Celtic reserves’ 2-1 loss to Brentford B earlier on Tuesday.
This blunder could all but end his Celtic career. Getting sent-off in a friendly is something that rarely happens. Therefore, it must have been a poor challenge indeed by Hendry.
Manager unlikely to be impressed with red card

Neil Lennon is unlikely to have been impressed with the player. If he is looking to put pressure on the players in the first-team then he is going about it the wrong way.
It would be best for the player and the club if he moved on from Celtic in the January transfer window. It his time at Celtic he has made only 27 appearances for the club, which shows how much of a struggle it has been for him to make the first-team.
Any transfer may only be a loan deal though, as the player is contracted to the club until 2022. He will not be in any hurry to leave the club, and he can’t be blamed for that. The club offered him the contract, and he was well within his rights to sign it.
Reports in the summer linked Hendry with a loan move to Hull City, but it didn’t happen. It is unlikely any teams that are interested in the player will be impressed with this latest blunder by the player.
