Celtic’s Kristoffer Ajer has had a bit of an up and down season so far. He has for the most part played well, but suffered a spell of a few games where he made some uncharacteristic errors.
That would include giving away a needless penalty in the 1-1 draw with Rennes, scoring an own goal in the 1-1 draw with Hibs and performing poorly in the 2-0 loss to Livingston.
Looked back to his best in recent weeks

The own goal was perhaps a tad unlucky, but the player had no need to stick his leg out. However, since the international break Ajer’s form has improved. He and Christopher Jullien are once more looking like a formidable partnership.
However, that won’t stop Ajer from playing with a point to prove when the Hoops take on Hibs in the Betfred Cup semi-final on Saturday.
He will want to make up for his performance at Easter Road. It has to be said that the entire team struggled that day. Ajer contributed to that with his own goal.
Therefore, he will want to put in a dominant display to prove that his poor form of earlier this season was an aberration.
Battle against striker could be decisive

If he can do that, the Hoops should reach the Betfred Cup Final for the fourth season in a row. How Ajer fares against Florian Kamberi could be decisive to the outcome of the game.
The Hibs striker has been in excellent form in the Betfred Cup, with four goals in four apperances. The Easter Road side will be looking for a big performance from him if they are going to cause a cup upset. Should Ajer win that battle, then the Hoops should prevail.
However, should Kamberi give Ajer a difficult game, then the Hoops could be in for a tough encounter against a Hibs side which are in poor form. It is the cup though, anything can happen.
