Celtic winger Lewis Morgan was handed an unexpected opportunity when he was named in the Hoops’ starting line-up to take on Cluj in the Champions League qualifier.
He replaced the in-from Mikey Johnston in the Hoops starting line-up, as Johnston missed the game through an injury.
Didn’t have much of an impact on game

Unfortunately, Morgan didn’t have his best game in a green and white jersey. He failed to have much of an impact on the game, and didn’t cover himself in glory for Cluj’s goal.
It was no shock to see Morgan substituted in the second-half of the game, which ended in a 1-1 draw. Neil Lennon is obviously a fan of Morgan.
Has started some big games this season

He has started the player in all of Celtic’s Champions League qualifiers this season. He has started three of them. However, on this occasion Morgan failed to take what could be a considered a big chance.
That is not to say that he can’t come back from a poor performance. He will get other chances this season. The fact that Neil Lennon has kept picking him in big matches so far this season shows that he will have a part to play.
However, it just didn’t work out for him against Cluj. It would be no surprise to see Mikey Johnston restored to the Hoops side for the second leg should he regain his fitness. As for Morgan, hopefully his time will come again this season.
