It was a bit of a surprise when Lewis Morgan started for Celtic in their recent Champions League qualifier against Sarajevo.
Morgan had been a bit-part player under former Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers. However, he must have impressed Neil Lennon in training. Therefore, Morgan started the game, and did well enough in the 2-1 win.
However, we will know more about Morgan’s prospects for the season when the Celtic team to take on Nomme Kalju is named on Wednesday night.
Key man if he starts game

Should Morgan retain his place in the Hoops team, then he could be a key man for the Hoops in the weeks to come.
It would be a big boost for the player if he kept his place in the Celtic team. It would show that Neil Lennon has faith in the player to feature in the biggest game of the season so far.
Plenty of thought in team selection

The Champions League qualifiers are arguably Celtic’s biggest games of the season. The team that is selected will have been carefully chosen by Lennon.
Therefore, should Morgan start against Kalju he will have been trusted to play in a big game for the Hoops. It is arguably even bigger than the Sarajevo game. The Hoops had that tie all but won by the second leg.
Morgan will be eagerly awaiting the team news for the Kalju tie. Should he start, it could be a huge season for the player.
