Celtic look to be adding to the midfield area of the side, if reports are to believed. The club have reportedly agreed a fee with Motherwell for David Turnbull.
Meanwhile, reports claim that the Hoops have approached Bolton about signing Luca Connell. What would these additions mean for the players already in the squad? It is too early to tell.
Game time reduced?
They could see their game time reduced even more, which brings us to Mikey Johnston. He made his breakthrough into the Celtic side last season, but was by no means a first-team regular.
The arrival of Turnbull in particular will only add more competition to the side. The club and Johnston might well think that a loan deal would be best for Johnston next season, so get him regular football.
May be off on loan
Interestingly a report from the Scottish Sun claims that Motherwell would like to take either Johnston or Lewis Morgan on loan as part of the Turnbull deal.
Is that a move that the player should consider? Quite possibly. If he manages to get a game on a regular basis for the Steelmen, then definitely.
However, the player may deicide to stay and fight for his place in the Hoops first-team rather than head out on loan.
He already impressed Neil Lennon last season. Who is to say that he won’t do it again next season?
