One aspect of Celtic’s transfer business that has not been talked about much is the future of Jack Hendry. The centre-back was linked with a loan move to Hull City last month.

However, the move didn’t happen and at the moment he remains a Celtic player. That does not mean that he cannot move on in the transfer window.

Not close to a Celtic start

Hendry could still move to a team in Scotland. That might turn out to be the best option for the player. At the moment he does not look to be close to a start for Celtic.

He has not featured for the Hoops at all so far this season. Perhaps a loan move to another Premiership side could kickstart his career.

Needs to play on a regular basis

A move to the likes of St Johnstone or Ross County would give Hendry the chance to play on a regular basis. That would be better for him than not even getting into the Celtic squad.

Who knows, should he does well out on loan, then maybe Hendry could yet have a future with Celtic.

With the signing of Christopher Jullien earlier this summer, Hendry fell even further down the Hoops pecking order. That is why a loan move would do him good. No doubt he wants to play regular football, a loan move would all but guarantee that.

It will be intriguing to see what clubs are interested in the player as the transfer window draws to a close. He could well do a job for some teams in the Premiership.
