Marian Shved is back - but when will he get his Celtic chance?
Neil Lennon has disclosed that one of Celtic’s most intriguing signings of the last year is back in training.
“Marian Shved is back” Lennon said, as reported by the Daily Record, perhaps indicating that the player is available for the Champions League clash against Nomme Kalju.
Fans will no doubt be looking forward to seeing the player make his competitive debut for the Hoops. It has been a long time coming.
Shved joined the Hoops in January from Karpaty Lviv, but returned to his former side to complete the Ukrainian season.
Scored 15 goals in final season in Ukraine
His last season with Lviv was a success, as he scored 15 goals. Little wonder that Celtic fans were so intrigued to see the player.
Unfortunately, he has only featured in one pre-season friendly as he suffered an injury in training. Now the player seems to be back.
However, it has to be asked – when will he get his chance to start for the Hoops?
Unlikely to feature in upcoming match
It is unlikely to be against Nomme Kalju. The wing positions seem to be James Forrest and Lewis Morgan’s at the moment.
Therefore, it could be a while before the player gets a chance to really establish himself in the Celtic side. However, he is just at the start of his Hoops career.
He has time to show Neil Lennon and the rest of the staff at Celtic what he can do. It could still be a big season for Shved in the green and white hoops.
