Former Champions League winners Marseille are interested in signing Celtic midfielder Olivier Ntcham, according to a report.

The Daily Record have disclosed that the French side have been regularly scouting the player and may be set to make a bid.

The player has been in demand before. Last summer the Hoops reportedly rejected a bid of more than £13 million from Porto for the midfielder.

Club once more interested

It has been reported recently that the Portuguese side are once more interested in the player, but were preparing a lower offer for the player.

Unfortunately for the Hoops, in recent times those days have been few and far between.

No longer a first choice

He is no longer a first choice for the Hoops in the middle of the park. Last season he made 37 appearances for the Hoops, but only 20 were in the Premiership. He missed almost half of the Hoops’ league games.

The likes of Callum McGregor and Ryan Christie seem to have gone above Ntcham in the midfield pecking order.

Should the Hoops get a bid for Ntcham that they feel is suitable, it would be no surprise to see him depart the club in the summer.
