Jonny Hayes or Greg Taylor? That’s the dilemma facing Neil Lennon over who to play at left-back on Thursday night.
Regular choice Boli Bolingoli won’t be around for the clash against Lazio (Daily Record) so Lennon is faced with a problem that he has rarely encountered. Hayes is the proven option, but not a left-back. Taylor does play the position primarily but only has one club appearance to his name since signing over two months ago.

The fact that the former Kilmarnock man has only last week’s outing against St. Mirren to his name must worry Lennon a little. However, the truth is that it’s all self inflicted.
Lennon had a good chance to get Taylor up and running
For all of the Northern Irishman’s good work in recent months, he really should have found a way to get Taylor more game time. Celtic have played 12 matches since the 22-year-old signed. Taylor has only made the squad twice.
Now we’re heading for an important clash against the team fourth in Serie A not really sure what we’re doing.

History tells you that Lennon is likely to give Hayes the nod. The Irishman has featured in 12 of our last 13 games, with the majority of those coming off the bench.
Lennon has already trusted him to come on in an defensive sense in Rennes, where the winger applied himself brilliantly. But doing it from the start against Simone Inzaghi’s side is an altogether different task.
Taylor would be the thinking man’s option. But you just get the feeling that he’ll once again be on the bench when the game gets underway.
