Celtic fans are facing yet another merchandise release this summer as details of a new pre-match kit were published by Footy Headlines.

The leaked shirt features a dark green base with a dense geometric pattern running across the front and sleeves.

Adidas have placed both its logo and the Celtic badge centrally on the chest in a light beige colour, while the sleeves include a stylised ‘CELTIC’ graphic that continues the current abstract design theme.

But as ever, it looks like the board are expecting Celtic fans to shell out even more money while the supporters are still awaiting that elusive first summer transfer to be confirmed.

Celtic look set to release more merchandise this summer.

Thoughts on this Celtic fans and how the club expect YOU to spend money while they hoard THEIRS? 👇

The football side of Celtic’s summer still feels unfinished

The laughable thing about this new expected kit release is that while the Celtic board expect fans to spend money without question, they hesitate when it comes to improving the footballing side of the business.

Yes, business. Because when it comes to Celtic, that is what this board’s mindset is focused on.

Protracted contract negotiations when adding Shaun Maloney and Mark Fotheringham to the Celtic backroom team were an embarrassment.

And the lack of transfer activity in yet another window is becoming a glaringly obvious pattern.

Celtic supporters have never had a problem backing their club. They will buy shirts, fill Celtic Park and travel across Europe as they always do.

But that loyalty deserves to be matched by the Celtic board when it comes to strengthening the squad because, in the end, nobody remembers a summer for the merchandise. They remember the team that was built.
