The future of Celtic right-back Mikael Lustig is unclear.
The veteran defender’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season.
As yet, no new deal has been agreed to keep the player in Glasgow.

To make matters even more intriguing, Celtic are in the market for a new right-back.
The Scotsman are reporting that the club hope to complete a deal for Borussia Dortmund’s Jeremy Toljan.
Lustig hasn’t been at his very best this season.

He looked particularly poor in the 1-0 loss to Rangers at Ibrox in December.
However, perhaps all the speculation about a new right-back has made him start to improve his game.
He had two assists in the 2-0 win over St Johnstone.
He has long been a favourite of Brendan Rodgers, and he has been his number right-back for most of his time as Celtic manager.

Naturally all things come to an end, and Lustig is getting towards the end of his career.
But there is still a chance that he would be offered a new deal by Celtic.
He has been a fine servant to the club, and is still capable of playing at a decent level.
Any new contract would have to be his last though, and it wouldn’t be a shock if he signed a one year deal.
If he does leave in the summer though, Lustig will leave as a hero to the fans, who won countless trophies.
