The Scottish Sun has reported that Celtic centre-back Filip Benkovic has suffered a leg injury.
The injury could keep the defender out of action for the rest of the season.
As a result, Celtic might well be in the market for a new centre-half.

Time is not on the club’s side though, as the transfer window closes on the 31st of January.
However, there might be a solution for this problem already at the club. Celtic utility man Nir Bitton made his return from injury in the recent 3-0 win over Airdrie.

He then followed this up with an appearance against Hamilton.
He seems almost back to full fitness, and that will be a boost for Brendan Rodgers.
The Celtic boss has played Bitton at centre-back before, in the middle of previous injury woes.

Indeed, he played in some big games at centre-back, such as the Champions League Play-Off against Astana.
If Rodgers has no issue in playing Bitton in a game of such magnitude, he would certainly play the Israeli at centre-back for domestic games.
Wednesday’s clash against St Johnstone might prove to be too soon for the versatile player to have his first start of the season.
However, it wouldn’t be at all surprising if Bitton started when the sides meet again in Perth on Sunday.
