Boli Bolingoli’s first season as a Celtic player has certainly had its share of ups and downs. At one stage of the season, he was the first choice left-back for the Hoops. Now, it looks as if he is third choice for that position.
Lennon has claimed, as reported by 67 Hail Hail, that the player is still in his thoughts between now and the end of the season.
However, the evidence doesn’t really show that. Bolingoli has rarely featured in the Celtic squad recently, never mind the first-team.
No league football since winter break
He hasn’t played a single minute of league football for the Hoops since the winter break, and in that time he has missed out of the squad completely in eight of those ten league games.

He has played 28 times for the Hoops this season, but only one of those games has been in the year 2020, the 3-0 Scottish Cup win over Clyde where Neil Lennon played an experimental side.
The lack of game time this year seems to suggest that the player is no longer under consideration for a first-team place. With that in mind, it would not be a shock to see the player and club part ways in the summer.
No point keeping player who is not going to feature
The Hoops have a big enough squad as it is, and there is no point keeping a player who is not going to be playing first-team football.
Neil Lennon will no doubt have discussions with Bolingoli at the end of the season. However, should he be no further to first-team action this season, then it makes sense for the player to depart the club.

That might just be on loan. However, even that would benefit the player as it would give him football on a regular basis, which at the moment looks beyond him at Celtic.
Only time will tell where Bolingoli’s future lies, but it would not be a shock to see him depart Celtic in the summer.
