Celtic’s left-back position is becoming a bit of an issue. The Hoops currently have three players that can feature in that position, but none are exactly playing well at the moment.
Greg Taylor was given the position most recently, but he has struggled in his last few appearances for the club. Jonny Hayes has been in and out the side this season, but is out of contract at the end of the campaign, whilst Boli Bolingoli seems to be firmly third choice.
Should be able to cope this season
The Hoops will likely be able to get though this season with their current options at left-back. However, Neil Lennon and the staff at Celtic should be looking to change the situation for next season.

What Celtic should look to do is make a Christopher Jullien style signing at left-back. That means, spend a lot of money – perhaps more than the Hoops would usually spend – on the position.
It should pay off. The £7 million the Hoops spent on Jullien in the summer looks to be a bargain when you look at how much he has contributed to the team this season.
Paying big money has paid off recently
He has been a key man for the Hoops, who look all but certain to clinch nine in a row sooner rather than later. It has been proven recently that when Celtic pay big money for a player the moves turns out to be a success.
Just look at how well Jullien and previous big money signing Odsonne Edouard have done for the Hoops.

A similar expensive signing at left-back could go a long way to solving the Hoops’ problem in that position. Hopefully Neil Lennon and Nick Hammond will be looking to make a purchase in that area to help the Hoops when it comes to the campaign for 10 in a row and trying to make the Champions League group stages next season.
