As Celtic’s first-team gets ready to return to action against Partick Thistle on Saturday, earlier this week the Celtic Reserve side were in action, taking on the Chelsea under-23 side in London.
The Celtic team, mostly made up of youth players, pulled off a notable 1-o win thanks to a goal from Scott Robertson.
However, one player who featured in the game is a man who has featured for the Celtic first-team in the past, although not that often under Neil Lennon. That man is Jack Hendry.
Helped Hoops achieve clean sheet

Hendry helped the young Hoops side achieve a clean sheet in the win, and one of his challenges was described as ‘brilliant’ by the Celtic Academy Twitter account.
Will the performance from Hendry in the win kickstart his Celtic career, probably not, but it could entice clubs to move for the player in January.
When it comes to Celtic centre-backs, Hendry is well behind the likes of Christopher Jullien and Kristoffer Ajer in the battle for a first-team spot.
However, perhaps some scouts watching the game will have impressed with how Hendry performed. They might feel that he is worth signing on loan until the end of the season.
Unlikely to leave on permanent basis

As Hendry’s contract at Celtic runs until 2022, it is highly unlikely that the club will find a team that will sign the centre-back on a permanent basis in the January window.
A loan move can’t be out of the question though, especially after Hendry’s role in the win for Celtic’s reserves. Hendry will want to play regular football, so he would no doubt be open to a move to get his career back on track.
That move could happen after his performance for the Celtic Reserve side. It is better for the player to try to get first-team football, then play once in a while for the Hoops reserves.
