Celtic have been linked with a striker, as the Daily Mail reported that the club’s scouts have watched Amiens forward Serhou Guirassy.
The player might not be a realistic target for the Hoops though, as the report goes on to claim that the player is valued at £18 million.
However, it is interesting to note that despite having four strikers at the club, the Hoops are still looking for new additions to the strike force.
That could indicate that Neil Lennon isn’t satisfied with the strikers that are currently at the club.
Another striker could be needed for formation
The Hoops boss has been playing two strikers recently, Odsonne Edouard and Leigh Griffiths. If that formation is to continue next season, then it stands to reason that perhaps another striker will be added to the squad.
However, how will that affect the other strikers currently at the club? You have to imagine that even though he didn’t leave Celtic in the January window, Vakoun Bayo’s time at the Hoops might be up sooner rather than later.
As for Patryk Klimala, he is only just at the club, and it is too early to judge how he is going to fare at Celtic Park.
Could new striker replace one of current first choice duo?
Could a new striker perhaps replace one of Griffiths or Edouard? Perhaps that could be the case. If Celtic are planning to spend big money on a striker, it is unlikely that they are going to be on the bench.
However, Edouard is so important to the way that Celtic play that it would be a huge blow if he departed the club in the summer.
As for Griffiths, he is currently in an excellent run of form, but who knows if that will last for the rest of the season.
The fact that Celtic are looking for strikers is certainly intriguing, and is a story that could have implications in the summer.
Only time will tell if the Hoops decide to sign another forward.
