It has been reported that Celtic want to appoint former West Brom technical director Nicky Hammond as their new director of football.
Should the appointment happen, that has the potential to have a positive effect on a possible Celtic transfer. The Hoops have long been linked with West Brom midfielder Rekeem Harper.
Reportedly attended game

Indeed, it has been reported that the player attended Celtic’s last game of the season against Hearts. However, any move for the player is no further forward at the moment.
In fact, recently appointed West Brom boss Slaven Bilic is planning to have talks with the player to see if he will sign a new deal at the Hawthorns.

Worked together in the past
That could be where Hammond comes in. He has worked with Harper before when both were at West Brom. Should he get the Celtic job he could perhaps encourage the player to join the Hoops.

Of course, there is no guarantee that Hammond will become an employee of Celtic. And the Harper deal could still happen no matter who the director of football is.
However, if Hammond gets the Hoops job and that helps Harper decide to come to Celtic then it will be a win-win situation for all at the club
It could be an intriguing few weeks for both Hammond and Harper. Will they reunite at Celtic? Only time will tell.
