Pundits line up to praise Celtic after stunning Aberdeen win

Former Celtic stars Pat Bonner and Chris Sutton were left very impressed by Neil Lennon’s team on Sunday after an exceptional performance against Aberdeen.

Winning 4-0 thanks to four first half goals, the Scottish champions were rampant in a match that on paper looked very tricky indeed.

The Hoops were coming into the match on the back of an energy-sapping display against Lazio while Aberdeen were fresh, on their own patch and confident after a 3-0 victory last week.

There was just no match for Celtic though, with the quality of our third goal in particular winning praise from pundit Bonner.

As quoted by BBC Scotland (27/10 live match page, 12:55), the former goalkeeper said: “That was a goal and a half. All about one-touch passing.

“Almost every single player in the final third is involved in that passage of play. And then James Forrest is allowed to walk it into the net.”

Sutton meanwhile was left similarly stunned, taking a break from his commentating duties to pay tribute to the Hoops at half-time on Twitter.

Another opportunity to impress

There appears to be no stopping Celtic right now and we have another opportunity to pick up a big win on Wednesday night against St Mirren.

The Buddies have won just a single match in their last seven and won’t be relishing a trip to Celtic Park with the Hoops in this kind of form.

It’s a brutal schedule for Lennon’s men, but one which Celtic look to be rising to. With so much strength in the rest of the squad ready to come in and perform too, there really is little reason to worry.

Will the manager be tempted to rotate some players into the side or have the Hoops just produced another performance that makes it impossible to rest the exceptional starters?
