It was always set to be an important transfer window for Celtic, and it has unsurprisingly had tongues wagging so far.
It seems like the Hoops support is a little divided at present. Many of you reading this will be pretty content with where our business is heading, with five weeks of the window still to go.
Others may feel a little underwhelmed by the lack of big business done by the club so far. Five new players have been signed, but perhaps only Maik Nawrocki could be considered a ready-made first-team signing.
Other people reading this may come down somewhere in the middle.
There’s not really a wrong attitude to have, and it certainly won’t affect how Celtic go about their business.
But if you give me a choice between a glass that’s half full and another that’s half empty, I’ll choose the former every time.

The main thing to consider is that the transfer window still has five weeks to run. It will close on Friday 1 September.
Many may look at the current squad and suggest that it’s weaker than the one which saw off Inverness Caledonian Thistle for the treble in June. While that is a matter of opinion, it’s not entirely relevant.
We can only truly judge the transfer window once it has concluded. I expect Celtic to spend significant sums in its closing weeks and improve the first-team with two or three quality additions.
On that, transfers can happen very quickly. Nobody had heard of Nawrocki until suddenly they had. Days later he was standing at Celtic Park holding the hoops. The next exciting transfer report could be hours away.

Deals can happen quickly and the club will be working behind the scenes to make it all possible.
While some may point to testing upcoming visits to Aberdeen and Rangers and the need for signings by then, the reality is that some of the best deals can only be done at the end of the window.
While those fixtures are important, they won’t define our season. It’s much more important that we get it done right rather than quickly, as much as some of the silence can be frustrating at times.
Celtic have already spent around £10m on new players this summer. We can expect them to spend more between now and the end of the window.
