Celtic could be set to make a move for Charlton’s Joe Aribo, according to a report. The Scottish Sun reports that the Hoops have had the player watched repeatedly. They could now be set to make an offer to the player.
The report goes on to claim that Charlton are hopeful that their promotion will persuade the player to stay.
Aribo played in Charlton’s recent 2-1 win over Sunderland in the League One play-off final, but didn’t find the back of the net on the day.

Double figures in goals
Aribo was a key man for Charlton last season, scoring 10 goals in 39 appearances in the promotion winning season.
It was recently reported that a host of clubs are interested in the player, not only Celtic but Rangers, Southampton and Rennes.

Would need to pay compensation
A key aspect of any potential transfer to take into account is that the player’s contract expires at the end of June, but the Hoops would still have to pay compensation for the player.

Celtic have plenty of players in the position that Aribo plays in – central and attacking midfield. However, Lennon and the scouts at Celtic must feel that the player can add something to the squad.
He 1o goals a season would certainly be a boost to the side. Only time will tell but Aribo could be a decent addition to the Celtic ranks.
