Scott Sinclair has contributed more in our remarkable recent period of dominance than anyone else. Since moving to Celtic Park in the summer of 2016, the Englishman has fought for ten domestic trophies. He’s won every single one of them.
That means that the former Aston Villa winger has won ten more major trophies than Rangers, Aberdeen and Hearts combined over the past few years. He’s enjoyed tremendous success against those three too – and his goals have been split among all of our various competitions.

Sinclair has netted goals in the Premiership, Scottish Cup, Betfred Cup, Champions League and Europa League during his time in Glasgow. His contribution to our ten trophy haul is clear for all to see too.
He scored goals during all ten trophy wins. Every success we’ve enjoyed since August 2016, he had his name on the scoresheet somewhere. He’s the only man who can say that.
From getting our 2016/2017 Premiership campaign off to a flyer with a winner at Tynecastle, until his final goal in a cup win over Partick Thistle earlier this season – he always showed passion when he struck.

Sinclair will be remembered fondly at Celtic Park
So when he confirms his departure, probably later today, some fans may feel a little bit sad about one of our modern greats moving on. Sure he was frustrating at times, and never lived up to his form from the ‘Invincible’ campaign. But perhaps now his time in Glasgow is over, people will look at that very fact as a positive.

Sinclair was amazing that year by anyone’s standards. The fact he could never replicate that was proof of just how well he played. Like Kieran Tierney, Stuart Armstrong and Moussa Dembele before him, his departure will remind us that things must go on in football.
But history will remember Sinclair fondly. His attitude was never in question and he stood up for the club at big times. That’s just about all we as supporters can ask.
