We continue our season report of Celtic players in season 2018/19 with a look at Celtic number 21 Olivier Ntcham’s season.

It hasn’t been the best of seasons for Celtic midfielder Olivier Ntcham. It started off so well, as he scored the winning goal in the first Glasgow derby of the season.

Highpoint of the season

That seemed to be the highpoint for the player, who has struggled to live up to his first season with the Hoops.

The Hoops seemed to play better when Ntcham was out of the team. His cause wasn’t helped with a poor performance in the 1-0 loss to Rangers in December.

Knee injury didn’t help

This was followed by a knee injury which kept him out of action for three moths. He returned to the squad towards the end of the season, but most of his performances as a substitute.

On his day Ntcham is capable of dominating a game, which could be why both Marseille and Porto are reportedly interested in the player.

They haven’t been put off by what has been an indifferent season at best for the player. It looks as if the Hoops could be open to selling the player.

France Football recently reported that the Hoops have named their asking price for the player. Should that be met it will be only a matter of time until the player is sold. That would be a disappointing end to his Hoops career, which at times promised so much.
