Scott Sinclair’s debut for Celtic seems like a long time ago now. However, it was only three years ago. He came off the bench to score the winning goal in a 2-1 win over Hearts. That gave Brendan Rodgers the perfect start to his Hoops managerial career, and he never looked back.
The same was true of Sinclair until this season. He has been a first-team regular for the Hoops up until this season, where he has lost his place as a regular starter.
Future is uncertain
He has still managed to score 17 goals, but despite this, his future at the club is a bit uncertain. The Hoops recently triggered a one-year clause in his contract.
That means his deal runs out at the end of next season. Therefore, the Hoops could be in a situation in a year’s time where he could leave on a free transfer.
Could consider selling player
Would Celtic consider selling Sinclair in the summer should an acceptable bid come in? It’s certainly a possibility.
After all, he has lost his place in the first-team. There is no guarantee he is going to start the Scottish Cup Final against Hearts.
It would be the perfect end to his Hoops career if Sinclair scored the winning goal in the cup final. He would have started and ended his time at the club as a hero against the Tynecastle club. Only time will tell if this to be the case.
