Celtic are set to begin a nine game run in December against Ross County in Dingwall on Sunday. It is a run of games that could define Celtic’s season, as they will play seven league games, their last Europa League group match and the Betfred Cup Final.

Neil Lennon could well be forced to use his squad players in the run of games, and he recently had some high praise for the players that aren’t selected every week.

He lauded the likes of Lewis Morgan, Jonny Hayes and Scott Sinclair, for being ready and available even if they haven’t played much first-team football.

“Of course you have to be ready when called upon. Lewis has played in fits and starts, but he’s always kept himself available and ready to play” Lennon said, as reported by the Scottish Sun.

“Jonny Hayes is very similar, Scott Sinclair’s the same, great professionals in what they do in training every day to keep themselves right.”

Lennon’s comments could be seen as a piece of astute management, especially when it comes to Scott Sinclair. He is building up these players’ confidence ahead of what could be a first appearance in a while, which is the situation Sinclair finds himself in.

Now that Lennon has mentioned Sinclair, it will be interesting to see if he, or Lewis Morgan in fact, features against Ross County on Sunday.

You would think Jonny Hayes won’t as he has been struggling with a shoulder injury. However, Lennon’s comments may indicate a rare start for Sinclair, and a second start in a row for Morgan.

The players are likely to be used at some stage over the nine game run. If not against Ross County, then the game against Hamilton on Wednesday night could be a good option. Giving the players a confidence boost ahead of those games is excellent man-management from Neil Lennon. His comments could help the players perform well for the club.
