Celtic fans have been debating whether or not to start captain Scott Brown in next week’s derby against Rangers at Ibrox.
The veteran midfielder has been below his peak form in recent matches.
He was subjected to severe criticism for a dreadful display against Cluj, during which he conceded penalty.
Yesterday against Hearts he also found himself on the wrong end of a penalty decision.
Although that one didn’t impact the result, some are beginning to question whether he still has what it takes to compete for the Hoops in our big matches.
With a huge game on the horizon at Ibrox against Rangers, where Brown didn’t exactly excel last season, could it be time to have him sit a few matches on the bench?
Lennon has a strong midfield to choose from with Callum McGregor, Ryan Christie and Olivier Ntcham all showing good form at the start of this season.

It’s not time for Brown to be completely frozen out of proceedings, but perhaps experimenting with a new way forward could see us improve.
Some fans are certainly in favour of him sitting the Ibrox trip out…

Others though are far more hesitant to lose Brown’s presence in the middle of the park, feeling he’s exactly the kind of player we need for such a high stakes derby…

The likelihood is that Lennon will stick with his captain for the encounter. Though his selection is perhaps more of a dilemma for the Hoops boss than it has ever been before.
Hopefully whatever team we go with it can rise to the occasion and pick up a much needed three points.
The game has the potential to set the tone for the entire season.
